Does Your Anxiety Have a “Default Setting”?
You have built a life that functions. On the outside, there is progress—a career trajectory or a degree in motion, a family or relationship that suggests you have it all under control. But inside, there is a persistent hum of static.
You are not looking for a “hack” or a breathing exercise to get through the next hour. You are looking for a way to finally feel at home in your own mind.
As your Anxiety therapist, I will work with you to uncover the roots of your anxiety so we unburden you from what is affecting you because of unprocessed emotions and beliefs.
Most therapy focuses on managing the symptoms of anxiety—breathing exercises, thought logs, and distractions. While these have their place, they often feel like putting a band-aid on a structural leak.
My approach goes “under the hood.” Influenced by Psychodynamic theory and Control Mastery, I work with you to:
Identify the Unconscious “Scripts”: We all have old rules we live by (e.g., “If I’m not productive, I’m not safe” or “If I show weakness, I’ll be rejected”).
Process emotions: Emotions that have not been identified and named, unconsciously weigh on us to make meaning of them.
Test the Roadblocks: We create a relationship where you can safely “test” these old beliefs. When your brain realizes these old rules no longer apply, the anxiety naturally begins to dissipate.
The “Pro-Plan” Environment: I don’t just sit and listen. I am an active collaborator in your “unconscious plan” to get better. We work together to remove the obstacles preventing you from feeling grounded.
